TGL League

We bring you the latest from the virtual links: The eagerly awaited TGL (Tech-Infused Golf League) has announced a shift in its launch to 2025. While the anticipation was high for the January 2023 debut, a series of unforeseen events have prompted a strategic pause.

The TGL, a pioneering venture co-founded by golf greats Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, suffered a setback due to significant damage to the SoFi Center’s air-supported dome in Palm Beach Gardens. This arena, envisioned to be the heart of TGL’s cutting-edge golfing experience, faced a structural challenge after a power failure on November 14, 2023, led to the dome’s deflation.

In a sport where every detail matters, and precision is key, the decision was made not to rush the repairs for a partial season. Instead, TGL, in alignment with its partners including ESPN, and commercial sponsors, chose to honor the integrity of the league’s concept and ensure the highest standards by postponing the debut.

This delay, while disappointing, opens a fairway of opportunity. The postponement ensures that when the TGL does launch, it will fully embody the innovative spirit and advanced technology that is its hallmark. The immersive experience—where longer shots meet a screen twenty times the size of a standard simulator, and close-range plays are made to a high-tech green complex—is set to transform how we enjoy and engage with the game of golf.

The league’s format is designed for the modern spectator: a swift, thrilling 15-hole match completed in a spectator-friendly two-hour window. The TGL promises a fresh season of golf that caters to new audiences and traditional enthusiasts alike, without vying with the classic rhythm of the sport we cherish.

At Tee Time Tavern, we echo the sentiments of Woods and McIlroy: a commitment to quality and a vision for the future. Just like our simulators will offer an unparalleled indoor golfing experience, we understand the importance of getting it right. One of the reasons we are excited for TGL is that we will be using the exact same simulators! That’s right, you can come to Tee Time Tavern to play on the same Full Swing simulator being used by TGL.

So, while we may have to wait a little longer for TGL’s innovative league to illuminate our screens, we invite you to keep your swing sharp at Tee Time Tavern coming in the fall 2024. Whether it’s to perfect your swing, enjoy our curated menu and a cold drink, or simply bask in the camaraderie of fellow golf lovers, our doors are open!

Join us as we count down to TGL’s new tee time in 2025 — it’s sure to be worth the wait!

Until then, just continue to #GolfYourWay.
